Description |
Grant Family Farms, a 2,500 acre organic vegetable grower in Northern Colorado (Wellington) is searching to fill a position for Logistics and Produce Sales Assistant for the farm. This position requires an individual that is highly motivated, self starting and is used to working in a high-paced environment.
Job Overview: Responsible for overseeing and performing all tasks related to order fulfillment, making sure all orders are shipped accurately and are in compliance with each customer's specifications. Also responsible for organizing, arranging and following through all freight situations, as well as providing customer service with the idea of assisting the sales manager to increase visibility with retailers, wholesalers and resellers of the farm's organic products and coordinating with the sales manager to increase profitability by improving efficiencies and productivity.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate customer orders, input into Famous, generate pick tickets and distribute to packing shed.
- Produce bills of ladings that are tied out with inventory and promptly transferred to accounting for billing.
- Manage I-Trade orders - inputting into the farm system, routing late orders through all channels.
- Follow through with changes - add ons/deletions are communicated to the harvest coordinator and packing shed as they occur.
- Organize deliveries/pick-ups in the local area - schedule delivery appointments for Denver customers.
- Generate weekly sales reports in cooperation with the Sales Manager.
- Coordinate logistics : procure trucks, schedule pick-up times and communicate with the packing shed and production staff. Be responsible for Clean truck affidavits, transportation PO's, truck maps, temp recorders and check all bills of lading for accuracy, checking to make sure all charges are invoiced (pallets, cold wrap, temp recorders, freight) are correctly invoiced.
- Perform all tasks subsequent to shipping, i.e. trip packets, passings, communicating with customers regarding any shorts, ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and sent to accounting for invoicing.
- Learning and complying with existing systems in place within the organization.
- Write and reconcile ALL credits in a timely manner. Properly investigate credits to include lost revenue from freight, etc. Investigate questionable credits and work with accounts payable offices to determine validity of claims.
- Promptly conduct year end summaries for all customers with evaluative work around credits, commodity opportunities, new programs.
- Assist sales manager to ensure customers receive availabilities weekly.
- Answer phone questions from customers regarding pricing, availability - all issues related to sales, transportation and general questions wholesale clients may ask.
- Help to develop opportunities of market development with new and existing customers to the farm.
- Actively be aware of the market and strive to maximize the highest possible return for the products we grow.
- Help the President of the farm to develop higher levels of accountability within the organization.
- To be involved with the management team to ensure that good decisions are made in the course of business. Profitability and success of the Farm is a must.
- Work to further develop a very well structured "team" and ensure that the "team" functions well and communication is king.
- Help to further the business in the area of technology, not only current maintenance but also bringing new ideas and technologies. |

* Knowledge of the Organic Industry.
* Extremely well organized and can develop good procedures around shipping point produce.
* Attention to detail and following procedures closely.
* Great negotiation skills.
* Great relationship skills with buyers and distribution chain.
* This position requires someone who is very proactive in meeting customer satisfaction all the way though on time, successful deliveries.
* Work long hours.
* Bilingual is helpful. |
