Job Description On behalf of our client, an leading engineering company specializing in production and installation of food processing equipment in the agriculture industry, we are now seeking candidates for Project Manager. Under supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager holds responsibility of converting a Customer Equipment Sales Order into a functioning system. The project manager will be responsible for building a working team environment based on task completion, quality control standards, product and line development, coordination of engineering, production/ project schedules, and promotion of the Company image.

Responsibilities to include but are not limited to the following:

Sales Order Review and Hand- Off Meeting:
* Review sales orders accuracy of machine and process description, while resolving any issues therein
* Review equipment budgets while resolving any issues therein
* Review the process flow, as well as products to be run, while resolving any issues therein
* Check initial sales layout for accuracy in plan and elevation while resolving any issues therein
* Publish Hand- Off meeting notes, establish the project team, and copy all members in correspondance
* Request Change Orders from sales to insure accuracy of the Sales Order
* Review OEM equipment and determine who is ordering
* Review Control Process, motor list, and vendor quotes, while resolving any issues therein
* Review production engineering timeline while identifying critical release dates
* Request aditional Hand- Off meeting as required in order to keep the project on track
* Inform Engineering Manager of any issues that prevent the project from remaining on schedule

Post Sale Application Engineering:
* Update and resolve all layout and application issues
* Complete any application layout issues required during the course of the project that may generate a Change Order against existing Sales Order
* Provide sufficient information for the Sales Application to estimate any new equipment and adjust Sales Order as required

System engineering:
* Finalize the layout in both plan and elevation and obtain accurate blocks of all equipment
* Communicate with vendors to insure system integration and functionality
* Develop the motor list and process control logic, manage vendors, and locate panels for efficient process operation
* Develop machine specification to drive the mechanical design process
* Review and initial Shop Release Packages for accuracy of details, design standards, and budget variances

Mechanical Design:
* Responsible for completion/ hand- off, and management of the mechanical design process
* Designer hand- off process; based on available designer, determine how much definition the assembly needs
* Form Fit Function Blocks; ensure most accurate block is part of the process
* Design the drawing process while ensuring work meets Company standards
* Design Capabilities; obtain information required for project success

Installation:
* Develop a full understanding of the installation process and sequence in order to provide drawings which accurately represent the process
* Develop accurate and comprehensive install drawings
* Identify and discuss critical areas of equipment installation with the install crews
* Develop and maintain good working relations with install crew; follow up on completed jobs, gather feedback from crew

Project Management:
* Monitor mechanical design hours for each job to ensure hours are within job budget
* Coordinate/ Manage sub- contracted fabrication, electical, etc., as assigned
* Perform a weekly review of the production schedule to ensure that release dates are met and logged
* Follow assembly and fabrication progress by periodical inspection of shop work
* Check status of purchased components as project approaches assembly
* Check in with assembly department to ensure that machine is being assembled to appropriate specifications

Product Development and Electronic Design Guides:
* Utilize existing Electronic Design guides and binders to develop equipment per existing design standards
* As assigned by the Engineering Manager, will act as Project Design Manager for HMI standards
* Route completed shop release package through the Project Line Manager for final review and approval

Additional Duties:
* Manage and archive data related to the Engineering Department
Candidate Requirements Ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and/or education. A relevant combination of same will be considered:

* B.A. in engineering or certificate program with coursework in engineering
* 3+ years related experience or training; will accept combination of the two
* Excellent PC skills; MS Word, MS Excel, and mechanically designed software programs. Possess ability to learn software needed
* Ability to comprehend and analyze engineering specific journals
* Strong interpersonal skills; present/ communicate information to management, staff, regulatory agencies * Exceptional written and verbal communication; grammar, and professional business correspondence
* Applying math skills to practical situations; fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions
* Ability to work with and apply standard units of measurement such as distance, weight, volume
* Knowledge of basic algebra
* Ability to set clear objectives and priorities, establish appropriate courses of action, organize tasks and schedules, and allocate resources to goals ahead of schedule
* Ability to identify and define problems in order to reach sound conclusions
* Willing to go above and beyond without direction, in order to get the job done

Travel:
* Position requires minimal travel within close proximity to assigned work location
