Job Description On behalf of our client, an leading engineering company specializing in production and installation of food processing equipment in the agriculture industry, we are now seeking candidates for Equipment Estimator. Under direct supervision of the Sales Manager and in accordance with established performance goals, the Equipment Estimator will hold responsibility of overall planning, organizing, leading and controlling of assigned and specific projects. As a member of the Sales team, the Equipment Estimator will support the profit goals of the Company by placing those goals foremost when interacting with others. The Equipment Estimator will contribute to an environment that fosters teamwork, task completion through department manager coordination and communication on safety standards, quality control standards, product and line development, and promotion of the Company image.

Essential Duties:

Pre-Sale: The Quote Process
* Assist Sales Person in writing, acquiring, and insuring accuracy of RFPI information. Contact client for information as required
* Convert the RFPI information into a workable process flow and equipment list for the quote as required
* Convert the RFPI information into a Sales Layout Drawing with basic plan elevation views of the process as required. Check drawing for accuracy if received from Sales Person
* Develop EF&M (Engineering hours budget, Fabrication hours budget, Materials budget), matrix for 'one off' machines or adjust existing EF&M matrix for existing machines that have modifications.
* Ensure the Process Parameters (voltage, products, pph, etc) are defined on the quote.
* Ensure the Process Flow Description (describe process/scope, and identify control drawing, ?DXXXXRxx.dwg?) is defined on the quote.
* Ensure that Customer Supplied info (i.e. bagger drawings, scale drawings, bag sizes, etc.) is identified and obtained as required to maintain project schedule.
* Ensure Photos of existing conditions are identified and obtained as required to maintain project schedule.
* Ensure Documentation of Physical Locale information (i.e. Layout dimensions, doors, access, power, ceiling height, drains, columns) are accounted for; if not available, develop a plan to obtain, by quoting onsite trip, or having Sales Person acquire.
* Ensure 'I:\Quotes\?File Organization' (naming, location, structure, vendor quotes, quote options) is organized and cleaned up per 'Sales Files Organization Guideline', reference drawings are deleted as required, down rev?s are maintained and deleted when applicable
* Ensure Quote Drawing is developed per established guidelines, (organization, references, options, elevations, blocks correctly named, current drawing name matches quote# and rev# in the DR format.

Post-Sale: The Sales Order Process
* Complete Sales Order Check off List prior to processing Sales Order, Ensure Quote conforms to Company standards prior to internal processing.
* Attend Sales to Engineering Hand-Off meeting when required; Provide copies of all key documents, take notes as during the meeting, make equipment description changes as identified within 24 hours following the meeting.
* Work with Project Engineer to add/ combine work orders to meet manufacturing requirements; Adjust EF&M budgets for these changes, communicate with Sales Person to determine if change is a 'No Charge add' or, if changes need to be added to the project and invoiced.
* Approve drawing release package in the absence of the Sales Person, review Assembly drawing and BOM to ensure design matches the Sales Description, approve OEM purchases and inform Sales Person of all items approved on their behalf.
* Resolve Costed BOM issues either under or over, with Sales Person; Process Change Order (if needed) and document actual cost for future estimates
* Follow projects to completion as it flows through each department and assists Sales Person in project management duties as assigned; communicate schedule changes to Sales Person, review overruns on budgets with Sales Person, insure completion of change orders to keep project on track.
* Provide key communication link between Sales Person and Engineering, Production, Accounting, and customer, once a project is sold

Product Line Management
* Represent Sales for the product line as assigned.
* Review content of design guide for each item quoted, if not updated present source information to engineering to add content for future use.
* Work in partnership with engineering and manufacturing as a product line representative.
* Add content to the design guide, recommend new machines, ensure current machines are to the quoted standards
* Act as Sales Technical Support for assigned product lines, handling service calls and assisting Customer Service
* Update design guide as required.
* Request updates/changes to the design guide if information is missing, incorrect, or needing clarification.
* Represent Sales at Product Review meetings for assigned machines.
* Update Quote templates as needed and work in partnership with other Equipment Estimators and AE?s to continually improve the quoting process

Sales Administration
* Maintain Sales Quote Process Tracking Que
o Update status of assigned quotes via the note field for any changes of status
o Manage Quote completion date as requested by Sales Person
o Communicate expected quote completion date to Sales Person; identify issues in order to meet requested date
o Continually monitor the AE que and proactively work with other AE?s & Equipment Estimators in the department to get the quotes out
* Time Tracking: Update 'TimeClock Plus' daily with time and correct charge to number
* Assists Customer Service Representatives with processing sales orders and technical issues when requested by Sales Person

Additional Duties
* Set clear objectives and priorities and allocate resources to accomplish goals ahead of schedule
* Identify and define problems to reach sound conclusions
* Show initiative to accept responsibility
* Exert extra effort to get job done with little to no direction.
Candidate Requirements Ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and/or education. A relevant combination of same will be considered:

* Associate's degree or equivalent from Two year College with concentration in engineering
* Experience in Sales of associated products and their applications
* Must be computer literate and possess AutoCAD, Word, and Excel skills; possess ability to quickly learn specific software
* Ability to respond to inquiries from the public, co-workers, and business affiliates
* Ability to read/ write memos and correspondence that conform to prescribed style and format
* Ability to effectively present information to management, co-workers, and business contacts
* Ability to apply math skills to practical situations; fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions
* Ability to identify and define problems in order to reach sound conclusions

Work Environment:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock

Travel:
* Some travel required in assisting Sales Person at customer facilities
